The Washington Metro Chapter:
- Serves as an information source for Maryland, Washington, DC and Virgina legislative issues.
- Provides strong networking opportunities for Industry Partners with member design practitioners.
- Provides promotion of Industry Partners' companies, products and services to member design practitioners through the Web site, the newsletter and chapter events.
- Provides sponsorship opportunities with correlating exposure to member design practitioners.
- Is close to the headquarters of the Society, which gives our members an opportunity to serve on national committees. This is a great way to enhance a designer's credentials that other chapters do not have.
- Coordinates meetings and networking with peers and gaining knowledge in specialties not one's own through Peer Groups.
- Is supported by an incredible administrative staff with their knowledge.
- Holds chapter events to network, get to know each other and recognize the achievements of members and inspire others to achieve.
- Holds Lunch and Learn programs to introduce Industry Partners' products and services to practicing members.
- Provides the STEP Workshop and Get on TRAC (Technical Review Advancement Course) twice a year in preparation for the NCIDQ exam.
- Fosters relationships with students in the seven interior design programs in our area via the Student Representative to the Board and other student programs.
- Longevity. The chapter and its membership remain a supportive and reliable constant regardless of the various iterations that an individual's career and professional needs might entail.
