This Interior Design Firm is looking for enthusiastic individuals to join our team as Interior Designers/Architects with AutoCAD Technical Proficiency on a part time basis.


Gloria Capron, ASID IFDA is an innovative interior designer who develops and provides creative interior design solutions for her clients interested in the fine art of interior design.  Our clients are commercial business owners, institutional preparation, facilities managers, residential homeowners, builders, developers and contractors. Our main markets are the Washington Metropolitan Area and Mid-Atlantic Region with work in additional markets throughout the country.

The ideal candidate is an energetic and enthusiastic interior designer or architect of interior design; a professional with the following qualifications:
•Architect or Interior Designer with Master’s Degree

•Excellent verbal and written communication skills and a desire to work with others.
•Strong initiative and motivation to succeed as part of a team.
•Architectural or Interior Design experience of at least five years with experience in Office and /or Residential Interior Design and/or Kitchen and Bath Design, and/or Restaurant Design, and/or Worship Space Ecclesiastical Design and/or display/exhibit design.

•Education: Bachelor Degree in interior design or architecture preferred.  However, a minimum of a two-year Associate Degree or certificate with a focus in Computer Drafting and Design will be considered with experience and fulfillment of all other qualifications.
•Must be proficient with AutoCAD with at least two years of AUTOCAD experience, as well as Microsoft Office, Adobe Photoshop, Sketch-up and other typical interior architectural design and communication graphics software.
•Must have worked with CAD standards in the past.
•Strong command of the English language.
•Must be willing to share AutoCAD skills and train other GCID staff.

The core duties and responsibilities for this position include:

•Work directly with Director of Interior Design to produce concepts, design development,        and construction documents.

• Collect and analyze information from internal and external resources.
• Create detailed drawings for interior project finish, millwork and cabinetry submittal packages and coordinate submissions.
•Create detailed fabrication drawings for custom furnishings and window and door details.

•Assist in the development of furniture design and custom products.

We work in a collaborative team environment which offers the closeness and flexibility of a small firm.
Salary is negotiable and based upon experience and qualifications.

Interior Design Internship - Washington, Dc


We are a high-end interior design firm in Washington DC that concentrates primarily on residential projects. We have a positive, collaborative and close-knit work environment

 

Internship Responsibilities:

 

Provide assistance to lead designer and project managers which will include, but not limited to, searching for samples at the Design Center, administrative support, answering the telephone, contacting suppliers to check stock and research pricing.           

 

Required weekly hours: 15-20

 

Qualifications:

  • 1-2 years experience in an interior design firm or current enrollment in a graduate level program in interior design.
  • Strong computer skills essential, including experience with Microsoft office‚
  • Sharp organizational skills and attention to detail. 
  • Ability to self-manage, multi task and handle numerous projects at once. 
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills.
